Where the 6263 wore a black acrylic bezel, the 6265 kept the engraved steel tachymeter of the earlier 6262—giving the watch a slightly dressier, more monochromatic presence that many collectors quietly prefer. Produced in parallel with the 6263 for nearly 20 years, it shares the Cal. 727 movement, screw-down pushers, and dial variants including the coveted Paul Newman exotics. Steel 6265s are notably rarer than 6263s in the same period, and yellow gold 6265s with 'sigma' or lemon dials represent some of the most valuable Rolex sports watches ever made outside the Paul Newman category.
