The 16700 was produced alongside the 16710 GMT-Master II and represents the last of the 'true GMT' design in the classic sense—a fixed 24-hour hand geared to the movement, and time-zone adjustment via the rotating bezel. It came only in black or Pepsi and used the reliable Cal. 3175. The 16700 discontinued quietly in 1999 without fanfare and remains the sleeper of the modern GMT family: sapphire crystal, aluminum bezel, and proportions closer to the vintage 1675 than the chunkier 116710.
