The 7836 replaced the riveted Oyster with a folded-link construction that hid the rivets under a smoother outer edge but retained the hollow, lightweight feel. Standard on 1680, 1675, and 5513 Submariners and GMT-Masters through the mid-1970s, it remains the correct bracelet for most matte-dial vintage sports Rolexes and is required for a truly period-correct presentation.
