Movement Service & Servicing History

Vintage Rolex calibers (1520, 1530, 1560, 1570, 1575, 727, 3035, 3135) are among the most serviceable movements ever produced and are still routinely rebuilt by specialists. A recent service is a positive—vintage watches need periodic maintenance—but over-polished movement plates, replaced main plates, or non-matching movement serials to the case are red flags. Look for correct engravings, matching Cal. numbers on the balance cock, and service history stamps inside the caseback where Rolex historically recorded service dates.
